Dr. Keisuke Meshitsuka, who has engaged in immunology, head and neck surgery, and public health for a long time, takes after the patients in a most appropriate manner, with the rich experiences and the network that he has established in the past.

Dr. Keisuke Meshitsuka graduated from University of Tokyo, and received his M.D. in Immunology in 1975.
He had held various important posts such as assistant professor at Tokyo Women’s Medical University; associate professor at National Defense Medical College Hospital; and department manager at Japanese Red Cross Medical Center, and throughout his career he was engaged in clinical research of Otolaryngology and Neck & Head surgeries.
He then fully realized that it is necessary to perform the administrative reformation in order to fulfill the true medical reformation. He got himself involved in medical administration as a counselor at Tokyo Metropolitan Government thereafter was involved in constructing hospitals throughout the country as an advisor at Tokushukai Group
In March 2008, he has assumed to become the director of Nishi-Shinjuku Yamate Clinic aiming to improve the prevention and treatment of cancer, so called the “Disease of the Nation”.
He recently has been practicing the Immunotherapy, Genetic Therapy, Molecular Target Therapy, and Alternative Medicine including various kinds of supplements as one of the pioneers in the world.
At the same time, he attempts to make the best use of genetic examination (which only takes up 20ml of your blood) and tumor marker examination to discover and diagnose cancer at much earlier stages than conventional examination such as PET-CT.
Nowadays in Japan, the aging has rapidly been accelerating, 3 times faster than the US, 5 times faster than France, resulted in the aging society with fewer children.
Nation’s medical expenditures have been shrinking by the increase of medical bill for the elderly. Nation’s medical expenditures that exceeds over \3 billion at the present is expected to reach \8.1 billion by 2025, and half the amount is expected to be allocated in medical bill for the elderly over 70. On October 1, 2002, the Health Insurance Law, that resulted in the rise of self-pay amount by its people, was amended. However, that rising up was not sufficient and from April 2003, the self-pay amount o of Health Insurance rose up from 20% to 30 % for salary men.
Faced with these situations, the “Preventive Medicine” gradually catches the people’s attention. The idea is to avoid getting any disease in the first place, unlike treating the diseases after one gets the disease. We call it preventive medicine simply, but there are so many kinds of it. Regular health checkup and comprehensive medical examination are among the one, for it aims to prevent the diseases. These examinations discover the health problem at early stage and treat it before it gets too late. These examinations are surely effective and the early treatment is important, however, the medicine that Nishi-shinjuku yamate clinic suggests is far deeper than these preventive examinations.
